I started Bass Labs out of my own obsession with JDM tackle — hunting down lures that were nearly impossible to get in the US. Now I get to do that full time, sourcing directly from Japan for a community of anglers who care as much about the details as I do.

About Us

We're bass anglers first, business owners second. Bass Labs started because we noticed something frustrating: serious American bass fishermen couldn't easily access the premium Japanese domestic market (JDM) tackle that's been dominating tournaments and private waters for years. Brands like Megabass, Deps, Gan Craft, and Jackall make lures that are genuinely hard to find in the US—and when you do find them, they're often overpriced or inauthentic. We decided to fix that.

Based in Santa Maria, California, we've built direct relationships with Japanese tackle wholesalers and manufacturers—not resale marketplaces. That means we're sourcing hardbaits, soft plastics, and reels straight from the source, curating inventory that reflects what actually works and what's genuinely rare. Every product we carry has been vetted by anglers who fish with it, not just picked from a catalog.

You probably know us from our live-selling community on Whatnot, where we've built a following of over 9,000 collectors and serious anglers. That's where the real conversation happens—where we talk tackle, share fishing knowledge, and connect with people who get it. We've learned that authenticity and deep product knowledge matter more than anything else. That's what Bass Labs is built on.

Whether you're a collector hunting for that elusive lure, a tournament angler looking for an edge, or a wholesale partner interested in stocking genuine JDM tackle, we'd love to connect. Reach out—let's talk fishing.
